I discovered a new blog recently that I’m loving called In Honor of Design. I love her content and wish I could steal her house! One of Anna’s most recent posts is called Life Lately in 5 Pics. I thought this was such a great idea, and I haven’t given you all a life update in while so I’m going to follow suit.
Phil and I are doing great! We’re about five months away from the big day and just trying to soak in this entire wedding planning process. I can’t wait to marry him! In other news, we’ve been trying to get outdoors and explore a little more. Work keeps us both busy and Phil’s band has been playing shows like crazy, so any little moment we have to get outside is one we try to take advantage of!
And speaking of outdoors, we took a little day trip to Lake Santeetlah a couple of weekends ago and had the best time. This is our favorite lake in Western North Carolina. It’s also where we got engaged, so it holds a special place in our hearts.
My brother and I spent Mother’s Day with my mom and had a lot of fun hanging out together. This photo was taken after our lunch at a local restaurant. My mom is pure sunshine and I feel so lucky that she is mine! She and my step-dad split about a year ago and the transition into to single life has been stressful and, at times, overwhelming for her. She recently bought a new house and is really starting to “come into her own,” if you will. I’m so proud of her and excited for what her future holds!
Our little garden is doing so good! We’ve had a ton of rain this spring, which really has our veggies flourishing. I’ve never been one to wish for rain until I started gardening. Now I get somewhat excited when I see it in the forecast. We’ve got a raised bed with lettuce, kale, carrots, spinach, broccoli, and green beans growing in it, and a bed in the ground with yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes, and corn. We’re also growing some additional tomatoes in pots and I’m growing various herbs in pots, too. It’s going to be so nice having fresh veggie this summer!
I was left in awe by how quickly the time flies when this photo popped up on my Facebook feed. It’s been four years this month since I graduated from college. That’s so crazy to me! I feel like I just graduated yesterday. So much has happened over the past four years. My good friend Courtney (far left) has a baby girl and has been married for almost three years I believe. And then I’m getting married and am on a career path I never in a million years would’ve believed if you would have told me the day this photo was taken. Life has a funny way of working out exactly how it’s supposed to and I’m so grateful for that!
So these are a few of my favorite moments from the past few weeks and a quick update for you. Hope you’re doing well! Enjoy the long weekend!
