I thought that today I would be posting another fun fall-inspired post, but yesterday was a hard day. A sorority sister of mine, and a beloved friend, pasted away after fighting for her life for over seven months. Kaitlyn was severely injured in a car crash back in February of this year. While this tiny girl put up the fight of a lifetime, her family made the decision a little over a week ago to stop all medication and life support because they knew it was time. She took her final breath yesterday afternoon.
I took these pictures of Kait a few years ago at our alma mater’s homecoming. They describe her so perfectly: spunky, hilarious, contagiously happy, and always having fun! If there is one thing Kait taught me, that is how to live. How to embrace each and every moment life gives us. And how to love those God has placed in our lives with everything inside of us.
While my heart breaks for a life that ended too soon, it also rejoices for a soul that is no longer suffering. Kait, you will be missed more than you will ever know. Rest easy, princess.
There will not be a Friday Favorites post tomorrow as I celebrate the life of this sweet soul along side others who loved her so fiercely. Please keep Kait’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Enjoy your weekend!
